Bridal Beauty Prep Timeline —What to Book, and When.

A week-by-week guide to Botox, facials, and skincare before your wedding, from Forever Young Spa in Back Bay. Nothing rushed, nothing risky close to the date.

The rule of thumb: start anything with downtime or a settling period 8 to 12 weeks out, and save only the gentlest, no-downtime treatments — like a HydraFacial — for the final two to three weeks. Never try a treatment for the first time in the week of your wedding.

The Timeline

12+ weeks before

Start Botox, if you're considering it

Botox takes 3–10 days to take effect and lasts 3–4 months, so this is the window to have a first consultation and initial treatment if you want smoother skin for photos. Starting early also gives you time to adjust the dose before a touch-up closer to the date. First-timers should never try Botox for the first time in the final weeks before the wedding.

8–10 weeks before

Address texture and tone with a peel or microneedling series

Chemical peels and microneedling both require downtime — redness that typically resolves in 24–48 hours, sometimes longer for deeper peels. This window leaves enough runway for skin to fully recover and for results (smoother texture, more even tone) to become visible well before the big day.

4–6 weeks before

Botox touch-up, if needed

If you started Botox at the 12-week mark, this is a good window for a touch-up appointment to make sure results are exactly where you want them heading into the final stretch — with enough time left for any adjustment to settle.

2–3 weeks before

HydraFacial and dermaplane for glow and smooth makeup application

This is the safest window for treatments close to the wedding. HydraFacial has zero downtime and delivers immediate glow. Dermaplane removes dead skin and peach fuzz, giving makeup a smoother base — both are gentle enough to fit two to three weeks out without any risk of visible redness on the day.

1 week before

Final facial only — nothing new

Stick to treatments your skin already knows. A repeat HydraFacial or a light hydrating facial is safe. This is not the week to try a new peel, a new Botox area, or any treatment with a chance of redness, bruising, or an unexpected reaction.

Week of / day before

Massage for stress, not skin

The week of the wedding is about calm, not new skincare. A massage the day or two before helps with sleep and tension without any risk to your skin. Save any facial for at least 2–3 days before to let any light flushing fully settle.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start Botox before my wedding?

Start at least 12 weeks before the wedding, especially if it's your first time. Botox takes 3–10 days to take effect and results settle further over the following weeks. Starting 12 weeks out leaves room for an optional touch-up around the 4–6 week mark, so results are exactly where you want them without doing anything new in the final stretch.

How far out should I get a chemical peel or microneedling before my wedding?

Book any chemical peel or microneedling session at least 6–8 weeks before the wedding. Both treatments involve visible redness and downtime that needs to fully resolve, and results take time to become visible. This window also leaves room for a second session if your skin responds well to a series.

What treatments should I avoid the week of my wedding?

Avoid anything new: a first-time Botox area, a new filler, a chemical peel, or microneedling. All of these carry some chance of temporary redness, bruising, or swelling — not a risk worth taking days before photos. The safest treatments in the final week are a familiar HydraFacial or a light hydrating facial, both with essentially no downtime.

Can I get a facial the day before my wedding?

A HydraFacial is generally safe close to the wedding day since it has no real downtime, but we still recommend 2–3 days of buffer rather than the day before, in case of any light flushing. If you want a facial the day before, ask us about which treatment is gentlest and confirm timing when you book.

What if I've never had Botox or fillers before my wedding?

If you're new to injectables, do not try them for the first time close to your wedding date. Book a consultation at least 3 months out so you have time to see how your skin responds, make any adjustments, and feel confident with the result well before the big day. We offer a complimentary consultation to walk through options.

Do you offer bridal party packages or gift cards?

Yes. We can put together a custom package for a bride and her party — facials, HydraFacials, or a couples massage session — and gift cards are available for bridesmaids or family members who want to treat the bride. Contact us to design a package around your timeline and group size.
