Results begin to appear within 3 to 5 days of injection, peak at 2 weeks, and gradually fade as the neurotoxin is metabolized and the treated muscle regains normal activity. Some clients notice results lasting closer to 4 to 6 months, particularly in areas with less muscle movement such as the forehead. High-movement areas like crow's feet and brow furrows tend to metabolize Botox faster.
Several factors influence how long Botox lasts. Clients who get Botox consistently over time often notice longer-lasting results, because the treated muscles gradually weaken from reduced activity. Avoiding intense aerobic exercise immediately after treatment helps — elevated heart rate speeds metabolism of the toxin. Zinc supplements have shown some evidence of extending Botox duration.
